" 'Skip glanced at his watch. 7:71. Just less than seven minutes until the bookstore he'd thought up at 2:12 closed for the day, and he could sleep well knowing that his very first night ever sleeping wouldn't be in a vifa jail cell charged with first degree grand writer's block, awaiting whatever penalty the more creative people involved in the trial could think up for him. The very first publishable frwoa of the entire 88-something billennia progression of the known universe (,) known as Okuaka since Skip had named it as such this morning in his first creative act as a sentient being was thought up, drafted, finished, polished, torn apart by his publisher and agent, re-written, re-polished, and finally published, with only a handful of typos and spelling errors that he prayed no one ever noticed. Was it possible that a frwoa would count as unfinished with even a single typo? "No," Skip thought, "No friter friting me would ever be that cruel."
" 'All in all, it was certainly the most hectic day Skip had ever had in quite awhile. thank god there was no type of ironic literary foreshadowing that could possibly allude to a future event that would unravel the fabric of the vifa space-time and undo everything that he'd achieved. That was a very good thing indeed.' "
It was a clever move. A very clever move. Skip was gambling that his own friter||god would be original enough to not actually follow up with the oldest form of comedic irony in the book and throw a crisis at him given his prediction that no such thing could happen. "Now that would be original."
It was only after Skip said it that he realized that his writer could very well be from a time during which the joke of refraining from the most cliche joke imaginable had itself become cliche after decades of non-use, returning to the originality of jumping yet another step ahead and writing in the initial cliche joke of following up on the irony of his original prediction.&& Or maybe his friter was just incompedent and had no sense that the original joke was cliche to begin with. Or maybe it wasn't at all. All in all, it could really be any one of them. But at the least, he probably hadn't harmed anything by flipping the coin over, because the potential for a crisis right about now was a pretty obvious thing to consider in any case.
Skip mentally crossed his fingers (as he was sure nobody had ever imagined imagining doing something that would otherwise be corporeal, as little in Flutonia was really corporeal to being with), mentally flipped a vifa coin, and birthed a drop of sweat.
